| I fear you are right Nigel.
The current batch of legislation appears to 'tidy up' elements of long standing law/culture, eg the business about teachers/little johnny, and "rights" each have. Furthermore society seems to be drifting into a mindless vacuum over resposibilities, it seems no-one is prepared to accept that they each have a duty of care to themselves and each other, it is always "what are they doing about it". An illustration of this is where Police find themselves called out to investigate a neighbour dispute, often involving children, whereas, in the past, a quick 'clip round the ear' to the offender would suffice. Surely it is time to bring the pendulum back into balance?
People should be more responsible and, when occasion demands, should speak out publicly without the fear of being considered politically Incorrect. |
