| Steve,it is very sad to hear about yet another model shop closure in the UK,however it is not just this country that is being hit hard with shops closing, only last week Van Hobbies closed its doors for good selling off tons of stock at reduced prices, the reason given by the owner ? just not enough trade to keep them going, yes the internet shopping revolution has hit hard and this is only the very beginning, the need to specialise has become even more apparent, and many on-line shops have been set up on E-bay to cater for the mass worlwide market out there.
Around the area of Warwickshire alone we have scores of shops closing their doors due to the online shopping bonanza taking hold,it is just too late for many of them, but who can blame them ? with soaring costs for property leases, rent etc many are turning to simple warehouse facilities to sell their wares, local high street trade has just been killed off.
Who could have imagined that this would have happened and had such an impact looking back even three years ago ? but it has,and many more shops will go the same route through lack of local trade.
