Plastic Modelling Tips

Maybe in the wrong section!!! but

I thought that it would be good for some tips and ideas to be published i know after years of modelling that i "just do" things and use stuff that perhaps would never be thought of by some people! Equally i bet that the opposite applies so here you go alist of tips and tricks to help us all
I will get the ball rolling

1 Make use of the screw tops from jars they make superb pallettes or turned over to form display bases

2 simple acetone (nail polish remover ) is the best thing for getting rid of super glue

3 want to clean some parts or a model before painting tried kitchen towel or cloths and they leave bits everywhere Simply use a paper coffee filter they are hugely absorbent dont fall apart when wet or leave traces of muck on the surface

4 having problems applying tiny drops of super glue?? simply get a sewing needle and cut the top off at the thread end with a grinding tool! this gives a vice little v shape. Capilliary action holds the glue untill placed where you need it .
