Ian,
Not sure if have seen the latest version of the Honeybee but I recently saw a honeybee being flown at my local beach. Fortunately the weather conditons that day were perfect, dry & sunny and most importantly, no wind.
I had a chat with the guy flying it, he was just getting his hovers sorted and was not doing a bad job with it either.
He had a home made training undercarriage fitted, (the cross poles type thing with small balls on the end fitted onto the skids). He told me he had thought about buying the proper item but this was in excess of £20. He made his from a couple of lengths of hollow fibreglass rod and 4 ping pong balls for under £6. It looked the part and from what I saw was perfect for this Helicopter as it did not add too much extra weight.

Good Luck with yours .......Mark.
