In answer to Rj's question in the shout box.
Nige is your man on Tigers really.
But the cheapest by far is a guy on Ebay called hongkongcowboy, he does Tigers 1&2 for about £230 + delivery (£50). He gets round Uk import tax by saying its a gift worth less than £50. If you do cop for import tax its still cheaper than UK prices. I got mine from a guy in Belgium called cheguevara for £300 all in check Ebay user terencepotter (Thats me) you will see the details of the one I already have In my feedback bit. And remember, exchange rates between UK and US are awesome at the moment, so it might be worth checking out US suppliers.
With the Tamiya Tigers you get everything you need apart from paint and TX/RX. I am fairly new to all this too, but I would imagine there are no better tanks an the market unless ou go upto 1/6 scale, and they start at about £2500. Also with the Tams there are never ending metal upgrade parts. A new boxed Tamiya has an all metal chasis and running gear allready all the other extra upgrades ar mainly for a smoother ride or cosmetic.
Like I said earlier NigeD is yr man for tanks really. So forive me if anything mentioned above is wrong.
Thanks for the advice as well Bunk. But the smoke unit i have put in is based on the same design as smoke machines in nightclubs. Small element which burns a water based oil to produce smoke, which is then pumped out the exhaust. It only takes a small element to produce plenty of smoke off this type. With no noticeable heat coming from the outer case. The noise off the pump adds to tank, it actually sounds like a knackered deisel engine, with the fan belt slipping...lmao
