Well the benfits of Carbon Fibre as you mentioned, stronger and lighter and very easy to work with. I was having to make a new chassis anyway and having made one from Aluminium before I decided to try this stuff. I have found it much easier to cut than the aluminium so that was a big plus as it meant the job could be done quicker.
And of course as Carbon fibre is all the rage at the moment, there is always the coolness factor too, bear in mind this car is owned by my 17 yr Old Nephew so he will be the envy of his mates. As for Performance difference, that remains to be seen, I will let you know once the new engine is run in.....every little bit of weight saved though will surely improve performance...as per full size race cars these days
Iain, that is a good suggestion re the shock tower, never thought of that bit, I will probably just have enough sheet left over to do that as well.
