Barry,

I have struggled with my desktop and old laptop to get Pen Drives connected and, yes they need drivers for Windows 98SE. I have usually been able to get them to work though one way or another.

I did hear of a guy on the ship who used a generic driver for one that he was having problems with, which I think he got from Microsoft, but that was a while ago and I know they pull the plug after a while on certain support.

I have also found that different Pen Drives behave differently with Windows 98SE so you could try a different one. The small capacity ones are amazingly cheap nowadays.

Then of course when I got the new laptop with XP the connectivity is amazing and a world apart and makes me think why I held off for so long. I will be upgrading the desktop to XP when I get home next time to get the same convenience on that computer.
