*** No Squiffy,the computer in question is just my standby spare,it is not connected to the internet or networked ?
So where could the conflict be coming from ? baffled.

Basically your getting a hardware conflict when you plug it in, so its trying to do share resources across the devices which it cant do hence the error message. Generic drivers wont help with this either because NDIS.VXD is the same- a generic windows networking driver!
