It's a close call for me Squiffy, I've always made models and I've always had a bike. I wouldn't like to choose really I get so much out of both.
I used to have a relatively new Ducati Paso with straight through Yoshimura's on it. Handling was not up to much but the noise was beautiful!! It used to set of car alarms as I went past them.
I was very tempted by the VTR when it came out but when I looked at some of the first ones I was very unimpressed with the overall finish. The trouble was I had been spoilt by the excellent finish of the VFR. I was looking for a big twin that I didn't have to continue mucking around with, unlike the Paso!!
Then they brought out the VFR 800 and I went for one of them. The timing has actually been modified to offset the firing so it is more like the racing NSR "Big Bang" set up so consequently the growl when you grab a handfull is quite something but it can purr around town without making a sound. |
