Electric RC BE2C

Hi All,

Just thought I might share a few pictures of a joint effort between my father & myself of a BE2C which we built some 7 or so years ago, still flying today.

The model was designed by my father who originaly built one of the 1/6th scale BE2C models for the TV Series Wings. Although the models used for the Wings series were stand off scale, we decided to ' go to town ' with the electric BE2c, designed at 1/12th scale (40 " wing span )

Originaly the model was built for the ' Eddie Riding ' trophy held each year at RAF Woodvale. As the building progressed, we decided to install two small servos, to aid trimming the model.
Sadly the model was not completed in time for the ' Eddie Riding ' event and only entered for static viewing.

Since then the model has flown many times under RC guidance, so well we never entered it again as a free flight model in fear of wrecking the model.

The airframe is covered with 5 micron Mylar, light weight tissue & dope. Cellulos paint to finish.

Power is provided by a brushless ' Typhoon 20/6 ' swinging a 8x4" Slim prop & 8 1100AAUU Nicads, total weight 30oz.

I'm currently reducing the original Wings drawings of a Albatros C1 for 1/12 th scale as a winter project for summer dogfights next year.

Mike.
