Howdy Mark, Barry, guys,

Well, being from the US, a country who at one time had an abundance of plastic models (it seems like there are fewer and fewr each yr), Cardmodels have never really caught on in the US like they did in the UK and the countries of Europe. I think that the reason cardmodels were/are so popular in the UK/Europe is that "post WWII", resouces were devoted to rebuilding and there was also the economic impact of the war on those countries. I believe that cardmodels were the cheapest hobby (compared to hobbies like plastic modeling).
And My "reintroduction" of cardmodels to the members of the forum, (whom I am sure had atleast seen cardmodels prior to my mentioning them), was something that was bound to happen eventually anyway, if not by myself, then I am sure someone else would have brought them back into the "limelight" considering the advances that have been made in the production of cardmodels.
I was just very pleased that they were so well accepted, it makes a person feel pretty good to share a hobby and have others express enthusiastic interest in what you are trying to share....and the members of this forum did just that, they showed interest. Alot of times, people will just dismiss cardmodels as "a lesser hobby", and I am sure back in my younger days I would have done the same, but, having taken the time to actually build one, then another and another, really showed me the intricacies of the art, intricacies that were everybit as satisfying as a plastic kit at a time when I was no longer building many plastic kits.
I agree with the statement that this forum is truly international and will be here for some time to come.
I try to introduce as many people as I can to this site. Why? because I feel like this site is similar to the reason I mentioned above....."it makes a person feel pretty good to share a hobby and have others express enthusiastic interest in what you are trying to share. This forum picked up several members from the cardmodels forum, people from all walksw of life from all over the world.
And although I know I have slacked off on my personal building of cardmodels in the past few months, I still keep up with the hobby on a daily basis, I visit this site, and when finished, I visit my cardmodel related links for new models.
I just want to say thank you for the kind words about myself, but I did it not only to share a hobby, but for the feeling you get from seeing people get excited over something you introduced them to...... its that same feeling you get when you give someting to a kid and you see that it was really appreciated. And I can say of all the websites I have ever mentioned cardmodels to, this site was the most responsive.........But then again, we have the best people in the world here for members.

Ok, I have rambled enough and not really sure that I said anything lol, atleast anything anyone else could follow lol.

Have a good day,

Greg
