| A friend of mine from the Boat club is a Traffic Policeman on Motorway patrols and one day he noticed a guy walking down the hard shoulder of the M1 in full WW1 battledress complete with Lee Enfield etc.
When he stopped and asked him what he was doing he said he was on his way to a Military Vehicle gathering, his car had broken down and it was easier to wear his gear than carry it.
My friend advised him to consider himself a "Prisoner of War" and stuck himk in the back of the car!!!
