Obviously the versatility of using standard containers has many advantages as regards shipping but I had never thought of the requirement for a system of handling the boxes without the use of cranes. Clever stuff.

The model is amazing and the diorama's that you could create with such a peice of equipment are endless. I love the tractor unit with, once again, your armour home made plating. Beautiful model.
Thanks for the comment guys. Richard, the system can be used on all standard container. The dollies are ajustable, in real life that is, to handle any length and size containers. Very adaptable system. I think it was developed by the Danish, not sure. Crans are still used in various facilties but it's the transportion that is the key here. These systems were developed ideally for the cargo planes like the C130. The idea is they can be loaded completely with the dollies attached and when they get to their destination they are simply pulled out by another prime mover without any problems. That simple.
