| aussie sidewheeler I made this model boat several years ago.Had no plans ,some photos only.Neverheless it happens the model is conformable to real Murray River steamer Alexander Arbuthnot. It is about 1 meter long 20/38 cm breadth and round 6 cm draft. Weight 5-7 kg. The hull is plywood/wood construction, the superstructures by plywood, RC.It is built as a trial model mainly. so that several items are simply built(paddlewheels mainly ,but they works perfectly)
Model "Ned Kelly" ( when build up the ship ,the biggest problem is her name, the next things are not to be worth while) is powered by live steam engine , 2 cylinders, by Wilesco. I am satisfied with it except the boiler-too small for 2 cyl. engine and long trips expected.
The PB burner is fed direct from PB cartridge with throttle valve , as I had problems with refilling the original little gas tank ,due its preheating during operation. The maiden voyage was done, but the model expects new boiler at present.
