Well this is story of it at he Indoor Nats as I read about it. Quoted direct:
"Peter Smart approaches the flight line with a large Messerschmitt Me 323 Gigant. At 49" (1245mm) wingspan it looks alarmingly big for an indoor model. What's more it has SIX engines!
The atmosphere becomes tense as Peter puts the model down and waits for the green light. Then he replaces the nose door and walks away.
Thinking something has gone wrong, the crowd peer anxiously over the balcony. Perhaps the battery is dead? but no......
Suddenly the engines run up to full power and the take off run begins. Gently, oh so gently, the Gigant rises off the floor with it's ten wheels still spinning and climbs slowly to about 12 ft altitude.
Instead of climbing further, the engines throttle back, the wings rock slightly and she begins to lose height - slowly - to finally grease in for a perfect touchdown.. Not content with that, she taxies up to the judges and the engines cut - all to a roar of approval from competitors and the audience."
