| Hi
Gunmetal is brass in colour. Gun barrels and actions are blued steel or Parkarised steel. Some of the more modern weapons are anodized aluminum.
Blued steel looks black or a very deep blue. Parkerised is a matt'ush black new and goes a little gray in time. I had a Remington Rand 1911 auto (the real thing) that was 44 issue and that had gone a little gray.
Gun metal as I say is a bronze alloy, and looks like brass great for bearings but no good for gun barrels.
