I see there is no Prangster forum so, as I have just aquired one I thought I would start one.
It says on the box - Virtually unbustable!! Well, my wife bought one for me because every time I go out with a new model I usually end up bringing it back in the palm of hand (a bag of bits). Now you can only keep so many bags of bits before you have to do something about it. Hence the Prangster.
It is made from EPP foam, comes in 2 halfs and the electrics go inside the precut holes. It is covered with webbing tape which will not tear and then covered with coloured packing tape, which is very strong.
I have met a guy who has ploughed it head first into the ground with no adverse effects, though I would worry about the electrics and engine personally. It has had it's maiden flight and flew very back heavy. It took 6oz of lead under the engine to level it. I think the mistake I made was using webbing tape on the depron tail pieces, which made it tail heavy.
I replaced the wooden wing spars for 10mm carbon tubing just to up the anti really. The undercarraige is very springy and will cut the engine on a heavy landing by stopping the propeller. I got around this by using a heavy duty zip tie wrapped aroung the undercarraige under the body. Just takes that initial spring out of it. I also changed the wheels from 2'' to 3'' so it takes off better. I use an OS40, which has ample power for the 5lb weight. I have to use half rates to take off, which leaves an awesome machine when on full rates. It will virtually turn over in it's own axis and does very quick rolls.
All in all it gives you a lot of confidence to throw it around, unlike my last one which failed to come out of a spin (well it did, but at 50mph into the ground).
