It is all down to power weight ratio again,build them in foam to the same size and yes you have a chance,in fact someone is doing just that 1=72nd scale radio controlled Zero fighters,Mustangs etc,but ordinary plastic is just too heavy,and brittle.
I once put a Jetex motor in a plastic kit of the Folland Midge,it flew around a pylon,boy did it move !
Needless to say it suffered the effects of heat eventually after a lot of fun.
