| I know quite a few plastic boat kits convert well to R/C ...the Classic one being the Old Matchbox Flower Class Corvette (I am pretty sure that was designed with radio in mind given the numbers that have been converted...and the fact that the kit was re-issued after being discontinued because of the numbers being converted to r/c) Planes however are a different matter purely for the reasons stated in Barry's post above.
At least if you have the drawings/plans, why not scale them up for something that will work. This has been done many times with very good results too.
