parma the american RC car kit maker used to do Radio controlled drag cars and american ' funny cars' some 10 yrs ago, dont know if they still do ?- they used to have an engine kit for one of their hot rods cars, it basically was a plastic and vacuum chromed dummy engine to muount under the lexan shell, it looked the bees knees, i guess scale would be about 1;10.....

dont know if they are still available ?- might be worth a look,

also found a vinyl signmaking supplies place recently on the net, they had self adhesive vinyl with carbon fobre finish on it- about £2 for an A4 size sheet... if you want details PM me and i will dig out their details from the junk pile in the workshop !
