It'll work fine - the only problem with resin is that they often have a residue of mould release agent which needs to be removed - I'd suggest mildly warm water and washing up liquid, rinse that off and then use a mild abrasive cleaner, rinse well and then key the areas to be filled with wet and dry to slightly roughen the surface prior to the application of filler.
