Richard, I would look into the history of the particular aircraft you are going to model and see what theatres it operated in.

If it was in a European theatre you could do anything that you would have found on an RAF base of the time but if it was in the Pacific you would be looking at a setting that included maybe an American Jeep or such.

The world is your oyster with Tamiya 1/35th armour and accesories in any area of operation.
