I've got a length of 5/16" phosphor bronze pb102 rod which I wanted to use for the bearings in a 16mm 24hp Hudson Hunslet diesel loco.

Has anyone got any hints on machining bronze?

I need to turn the rod down and then drill and ream for a 1/8" axle.
