hi thanks for the advice bogstandard . i am familiar with those sites after researching a more accurate paint scheme as i find the box art is horrible . I have fettled the navy kompact sets and they are reasonably quiet now i found the was hardly any lash at all in the gears which caused then to scream . which i am glad i did as they would be awkward to remove now . This build is really a trial run to see if i am capable of attempting something a little more complex so i wont be deviating from the kit build too much even though i understand a lot of robbe models are not true to scale . I quite fancy having a go at either billings calypso or model slipways yorkshire man or aziz .

I did come across a gent who had chopped his hull in half and added a section in the middle to make the extended version , he also had replaced the front monitor with a crane which brings his model more upto date . Its quite impressive .

on a lighter note we have a 3 month old retriever puppy who decided to relieve himself on my laptop power pack , so now i am relegated back to my old one which has a dodgy keyboard so please excuse any typos . scared the hell out of the missus though went with a bang .

for those who are interested in the f14 and modules
