A word of warning, a man i knew sailed these plastic kit models and found that he had to change the prop from the kit-supplied variety to an alternative, he also invariably swamped the boat every time he used reverse, resulting in at least one sinking.
Before upgrading the motor, it may be wise to give it a try.
