Howdy Mark,

Well i am glad you liked this model. I also thought that it could probably be used as a base for a RC model build...as you say "with the appropriate materials of course".
I know of several card model ships that more than likely could be used in this manner.
People have been converting the card model aircraft for years using micro motors to make them free flying and even RC models. They have not only used the actual card models for these purposes but also use the plans for the cardmodel aircraft as a base for building "Foamies" which are models built of foam using the cardmodel as a refference. If you would like to see some other "marine related" cardmodels, let me know and i will be happy to post some. There are free models ranging from United states Nuclear submarines to old sailing ships and coast guard ships as well as luxury liners.
