Well, here is mine contribution to the cause. It is a the M1129 Mortar Stryker. I used the AFV Club kit and converted it with lots of scratchbuilt parts. I used Tamiya rattle cans. I do not use an airbrush. i first sprayed it using Tamiya's Nato Green, and then used desert yellow for the splattered bud effect. Then I took some black paint and diluted with water. Then added some window cleaner liquid and mixed everything until it was very diluted. mixed it well then took a brush and brushed it over the entire model. After letting it dry for a couple of minutes, I used real dirt to add more dirt effect to it. I have yet to add the gun:
