I wanted a quiet compressor, I first bought one of those small compressors with a 2 litre tank on the bottom, they are sold on ebay for tanning, and modelling etc. The thing arrived and the tank was dented and some of the pipework was bent too. When I tried to remove the compression fittings one just sheared off in the tank, leaving half the thread in there. The other fittings used olives which were mangled and the pipe wasn't even cut the right length to fit into the compression joints.

After being a bit let down by the quality of that product i bought an old Industrial ilent Jun-Air compressor from ebay. Great condition, 25 litre air receiver, silent fridge type compressor. A real joy to use!
