Hi Chris, well you have choice depending on the sub. All 3 sections are independent and interchangable. For the Akula I am building, the batteries will go in the front section. I have measured the front tubes to be just long enough to accomodate my battery; just cut longer tubes if you need to fit a bigger battery, or want a longer WTC. For shorter boats, or if your getting stability problems, and need to increase the metacentric height, you can just drop the the front section completely and keep the batteries in the wet area low down under cylider. All the electonic gear like reciever, ESC and ballast switch can go in the centre ballast section. Obviously you'll need a second tube to accomadate the shorter WTC (but this fairly cheap compared to a new WTC).
