Post 1/48 T-45C Goshawk Build

So I've finally decided to jump into this project. I decided to use the Premier BAe Hawk T.Mk1A kit since the Airfix one got mangled in the move.

I started with the mid-fuselage section, as it will require the least major modifcation, yet still needed some detail help. The tail section will be next, followed by the cockpit. (I normally do the cockpit first, but I have a couple of NACES seats on order as well as other things, so I figured I'd just wait).

Here's a photo of the progress so far: ECS heat exchanger intake scoops and exhaust vents have been drilled out (this picture shows the exhaust vents), as well as the dorsal GTS exhaust port. I drilled out holes on each side for the Hyd damper gauge on the fuselage. (The jet has two hydraulic systems, and on each side of the tail section of the jet there are small gauges that you can view through windows that tell what the hydraulic damper pressures are - part of preflight). I added a small piece for the top red anti-collision light, and will add a piece of clear sprue between the ECS intakes when the model is almost complete for the top strobe light.

This kit so far has not impressed me - it's a good thing I'm planning on major modifications anyway, otherwise I probably wouldn't even begin to build it - fit is atrocious and there is so much extra flash in some places you're not sure whether its some of the part or not.
