| Richard,
I was commisioned to build two for a 10ft destroyer by a gentleman in the US. But I stated a prototype was needed first, to give me some idea of power output and what speeds to expect. You have seen the proto.
He is hoping to run them on steam, but I have already informed him that he would really need to get a flash boiler built, to give him the volume of steam that will be required, so the decision will be his as to whether he wants them building. They will be, by going from the results from this one, about 2/3rds the size, with only two rotors, and the rotors will be made of much lighter material. I can't use aluminium because the steam impingement will almost just blow it away, so I have some pieces of titanium, or maybe obtain some ali bronze to do the job.
This one isn't lost, it will go into my ever so slowly growing collection of home mades.
Have now got to get my backside into gear and get a bit of my backlog cleared. I hope to start on a new design in about two months, but I don't know what yet. I have got a load of material to start my onslaught into the stirling engine field, so maybe that will be next.
Glad you gents liked it, and thanks for the most welcome good comments.
