The warping is solved now, the lid hasnt budged. I have removed a little of the lead from the bow, and put 2 bits of foam to balance it on the underside of the lid, and apart from that its ok.
The boat now sits with the water just under the forward hydroplanes and just covering the props at the stern. I think I may call it a day at that point, before I knock it out of balance again.
Does anyone know why they specify the reciever aerial in the boat should remain on the inside of the WTC ? Would it make a difference if it was outside the WTC for example ? Just curious to be honest

Doesn't make any difference to signal, However if it was outside the WTC you would have to plug another potential leak and the end of the aerial wire would have to be sealed so it was isolated from the water.
