| Traction Engine Gears Hi there.
I'm looking for any info regarding a set of traction engine gears that I've inherited. They are all in 10DP but I'm not sure of either the scale or the model that they are off. Guessing that they are about 20 yrs old.
Starting with the two speed drive there is a 17T and a 27T pinion, 1/2 face, both with boss and slider fork groove. These mate with a double gear of 69/79T.
The diff cage carries a 95T gear 3/4 face and this mates with a 25T pinion of same face width. One of the two bevel gears registers in the hub of the diff cage set, which is designed as a 2 bevel pinion set up. Also featured on this assembly is a flanged drum, the purpose of which I'm not sure. Could be either a winding drum or road wheel brake.
I've looked at old ME's and can't see it being either Minnie or John Hainings Light Compound Tractor nor does the gearing match a Thetford Town that I've looked at.
I've added some photos of the parts to my gallery on this site (see left)
Anybody recognise these bits?
