Starting with the two speed drive there is a 17T and a 27T pinion, 1/2 face, both with boss and slider fork groove. These mate with a double gear of 69/79T.
The diff cage carries a 95T gear 3/4 face and this mates with a 25T pinion of same face width. One of the two bevel gears registers in the hub of the diff cage set, which is designed as a 2 bevel pinion set up. Also featured on this assembly is a flanged drum, the purpose of which I'm not sure. Could be either a winding drum or road wheel brake.
I've looked at old ME's and can't see it being either Minnie or John Hainings Light Compound Tractor nor does the gearing match a Thetford Town that I've looked at.
Anybody recognise these bits? |
I don't know what engine those gears are off, but by the size of the gear face width it looks like a 2" or 3" scale engine.
If the flanged drum has a very deep flange then it is a winding drum, if it has a shallow flange more like a groove then it is a brake drum.
Also most engines had a three pinion set up on the diff, so that might help in tracking the model down.
