Seriously though, there are a few pointers further back in this thread in regards to the weathering i've done here. If you need any help you know where i am. What i would say is get as much ref as you can, i took a load of photo's of fishing boats moored up at Weymouth harbour here in the uk. These working boats show a lot of weathering as the boats tend to go out in all weathers, much as the U-Boats we are building did.
For the weathering below the waterline I 'googled' dry docked ships and copied what I saw from these photo's. All this was done on top of a coat of matt varnish (Acrylic) so if it all went tit's up i could wipe it all off with a white spirit soaked rag.
Right, i'm off to try and make some insulators and stuff......
