Hi Tony.
I managed to obtain a broken 1/24 scale Hen Long type 90 tank for a few quid ( the electronics amongst other things had packed up ).
So I pulled it apart and removed the turret ring and motor assembly.
The Hen Long turret ring is limited in travel, to overcome this and get 360 degree of rotation you have to file in a few extra teeth on the turret ring ( the H.L one has a piece of the ring where there are no teeth to prevent it turning 360 and pulling the wires off the board ).
The Hen long turret is a smaller diameter than the leopard
so I made a plasticard part that reduced the size of the hole in the body on the leopard, fitted this to the base of the leopard turret openin and fitted a bridgeing piece into the leopard turret and then the turret ring to this, then I fitted the motor and gearing into the hull of the Leopard and connected the motor of the mechanism to a 1 amp small speed controller.
I have variable speed of turret traverse both left and right and full 360 travel.
You can get hold of these 1/24 scale tanks quite cheeply on the net even a brand new one for about £50, worth the bits of you can get hold of a duff one like I did.
I intend to install the BB firing mechanism next in mine.
