Footnote: Many years ago a workmate told me about some remains of an aircraft on his dads farm,he invited me over to see them and when I got there sure enough were portions of Horsa fuselages used as chicken runs ! I gathered together three bags of metal fittings and other parts such as air bottles etc,years later these same parts went into making up a Horsa for preservation,that Horsa glider now rests in a museum dedicated to the Glider pilots regiment. |
