| Grumman Duck Amphibian.
Despite a lot of attempts I never managed to get this Grumman Duck model to fly properly,speaking to a lot of people who have built similar subjects they too have had problems with this design,the central float does not help matters either,but she was fun running across the water trying to get her airborne on the wake,the idea is to make a few runs to disturb the water and then crank her into wind and try to get airborne,but all this one would do is porpoise across the water.
The best amphibian that I ever built was called 'Duckfoot' an old APS free flight design which I built two,one fitted with radio she would lift off with no problems whatsoever.
The Duck was built from a Harold Towner plan.
All part of the learning curve and trying out different types of models.
Eventually I just scrapped this one off,next one will be larger.
