***The PVA glue will not actually stick to the plastic canopy as it does not dissolve the material as plastic cement does,what it does is form a fillet bead,what I suggest you do is apply a bit more and just allow the adhesive to dry throughly until it turns clear,the canopy will then sit in the dried adhesive,if you want to improve the adhesion without damaging the canopy just apply a thin coat of Johnsons Klear to the base of the canopy,you can get a big bottle from the floor polishes section of your supermarket,what happens then is the PVA will cling to the Klear and give a better bond,so remember you are not glueing the canopy just holding it nicely in place with the non plastic attacking PVA.
