    Xtracolour RLM 70 / 71

Hello all. I'm using this on a 1/48 Junkers 88 so there is lots of wing to cover. The problem I have is that there is not a lot of contrast between these two. I look at other people's models and there is a definite difference between 70 and 71. So...is it the paint, should I be using RLM 72/ 73 instead? Lightening the RLM 71?

I'm airbrushing the enamels now but think I shall be changing to acrylics for next one.

    Advice appreciated, thanks.

RLM 70 Schwartzgrun is Black-Green and RLM 71 Dunkelgrun is Dark Green so I am not surprised that there is not a lot of differrence.

A lot of camoflage systems were like this though and if you look at black and white photo's of the time with a bit of use and weathering of the surfaces it isn't easy to tell the two colours apart especially with a feathered edge type of finish.

I would use the specified colours as I am sure that you will have something very close to the authentic Luftwaffe scheme.
