RCV Engines

Does any one have any experience or knowledge of RCV engines, picked up a 90 and 120 for less than half price from a model shop in the north of Scotland, that the owner was changing to a fishing tackle shop. Wot a waste!
Instructions say no rubber mounts are needed but local model shop says that they a must.

Can anyone help with any information?

The early ones had a reputation for shedding parts,dont know about the latter ones,they did an article/review in one of the model mags but I am sorry cannot remember which ?

Hello Gryphin and Welcome on board. Indeed I can confirm from other sources that early versions of this engine did used to shake a bit, there was a suggestion of mounting an aluminium plate behind the engine mount and against the bulk head to minimise the mounting bolts biting in, although this could be done with a rubber mount.

Thanks for that Mark, RCV supply an ali plate for the inside of firewall, but was after any other info,
