Airfix have re-issued the old B.O.A.C civil kit of the VC-10 and included the required parts for the R.A.F tanker version,the kit is showing its age now but goes together really well,one mod that I incorporated was to extend the refuelling probes which look a bit different,although there are no windows in the kit this is soon rectified with 'liquid fill' if anyone has not used this technique then give it a try,it looks really good and once dry cannot be discerned from glass.
The finish is one coat of Halfords white primer followed by a Farina sand aerosol,this matches the Hemp shade of the full size machines admirably.
I am informed that the old Tristar kit has had similar treatment and been re-issued.
Almost forgot this is 1=144 th scale.
