Lockheed Constellation.

Still working on the de-icer boots on the wing leading edges and the wheels need some tyre black, but this model shows the graceful lines of this classic airliner.
The decals are home brew done on the computer, and the markings are painted by hand for Ace Freighters,a Midlands based cargo carrier.

*** I have found ordinary glossy inkjet photo quality paper useful,to thin it out just sand the back with wet and dry paper used dry, this removes the paper backing and makes the decal wafer thin to stick onto the model with Pritt stick or similar, for decals that need a different colour ground pre-paint the film with acrylic artists colours and print onto this, for transparent grounds you need to buy the commercial film,if you can get sticky back paper large enough just apply a coat of acrylic clear artists spray in layers, then print onto this, apply another coat of clear spray and soak off like ordinary decals.
The Connie here uses the standard inkjet paper that has not been thinned on the back before I discovered the dry sanding technique, but they dont look too bad,you try that little but more every time with these ideas,I am sure there are many more ways to do this type of job.
