Cool 1/72 Tupolev Tu 22 'Blinder' Finished pics

Heres the final result , after lots of alterations/additions(see " Being bashed ! Italeri 1/72 Tupolev tu22 Blinder " (Being bashed ! Italeri 1/72 Tupolev tu22 Blinder)
build thread for details) ive finally got a blinder to add to my soviet cold war shelf. It was a bit of a problem taking the pics as i had to wait for a nice dry day and then find a big enough white backdrop . The final couple of pics are with the TU22m2 'backfire' i did a bit back and a lavochkin la5, just to get a bit of perspective of how big these aircraft were. The very last pic is a homage to the ending credits of
'Thunderbirds' --there was a series of shots of thunderbirds vehicles in very close up, which panned out to reveal which one it was , the one of the Mole looked just like this!!!Anyway enough rambling , here are the pics ,comments criticisms observations welcome! cheers tony

Tony ,positively outsatnding !!! I love the close up shots and the finish work really is clean and shows! The gear rework is over the top and nice touch with the added plumbing. Very nicely done Sir a well deserved 5 stars from me !

That's a beautiful build Tony & one you must be very proud of. The contrast between the silver & white panels works really well.
I love the 'Thunderbirds' close-up! I remember shouting out what each one was - sad at 45!

Definitely a 6 star build coz you deserve an extra one for all the effort!

      Cheers

Thanks for the great comments guys! I wasnt very satisfied with the pics but its a big beast and quite difficult to get nice clear images when youre having to take them from quite a way away so you can get it all in. Patrick, glad its not just me that used to shout out which thunderbird it was !! cheers everyone , tony p.s. the cockpit windows are meant to be like that , the aircraft had padding on the inside which obscured half the glass , probably one of the reasons it wasnt very popular with crews! without this info it just looks like I made a complete hash of the canopy! tony

Have you ever thought of building something that resembles its subject OOB

Cheers steve , I really ought to do another tamiya didnt I !!? Just to get the kit out of the box and stick it together , it would be a nice relaxing change!! trouble is i'm still halfway through the airfix boomerang with a lot more scratching in the cockpit to do!! cheers tony

Cracking, Tony. If you'll pardon the pun, it really is a blinder!
