Flying vet Captain Kirk has sadly crashed his Piper J.3 Cub during his round the world flight,Maurice Kirk started his epic flight three years ago and has steadily worked his way around the globe,well known flying eccentric Kirk has proved his point on many occasions in the midst of politics,bureaucracy and officialdom,to this end he has towed banners from the air proclaiming his innocence.
During a long journey across Japan the engine of his former U.S.Army spotter aircraft quit,leaving him no option but to put the Cub down on a road,the result was a broken arm for himself and a badly bent aeroplane.
A sad end to the flight but knowing Kirk he will be back in the air again when he is fit again to continue that journey in the footsteps of the pioneers.
