Starfix C5-A Galaxy 1/288

This is one of those models that you either love or hate. The kit is basic and the decals next to uslessbut that can be overcome.

***Colin, this kit started life as a cereal pack premium for the Kelloggs company, the moulds were made by Airfix products,I have one of the original models in my collection, they also did a Boeing 747 to the same scale.Where did you get this kit from ?

Barry,

I am pretty sure you had to send away for the Kellogs one and if my very faded memory serves me correctly it was mouled in white plastic.

If that is the case then I had one. I would put it at around early 70's if I am thinking of the right thing.

i know im a lot younger than most of you lot but the i remember something kind of like this when i was younger (must have been about 9/10) there was a kind of modern meccano thing called K'Nex (i think) im not sure, either it was made by maccano, or it was trying to rival it and failed. can anyone correct me there?

it was all different coloured bit of plastic with wierd hegagonal shape bit to connect them all togeather.

In Weetabix you sent off tokens for part which would make a small model, there were bout 10 small models to make and once you had all of them you could make a huge model (think it was a ferris wheel)

who can remember that?

my brother and i managed to get them all but god knows what happened to it all. I remember being able to get in woolys as well!

edit:

it is still made, found it on hundreds of websites, ebay, amazon...etc
