| SA 2 GUIDELINE Missile Howdy again Guys,
Ok, here is what I just finished a little bit ago. The decals arent even on it yet. I also have a little detail painting I need to do, but thought I would go ahead and take the pic anyway.
Its the SA 2 Guideline surface to air missile which shoot down Gary Powers and his U2 spyplane in the early sixties. Its 1:35 scale and made by Trunpeter.
Have a good day, more to come,
Greg aka GW
EDIT: For some reason I cant get the image to work, so you can see this model in my gallery by clicking on the link to the left of this post.

| Howdy Again RJ,
The missile itself is about 11 inches long and the launcher is about the same length, its 1:35 scale. I like to take photos of my models outside, usually on the driveway, right next to where the grass meets the concrete, this kinda gives the illusion of a runway or tarmac for planes. So, with this missile, I figured I would find a "dead spot" in the grass and place it there (as if it was set up somewhere in a clearing somewhere). Doing photos this way does make the models look abit bigger than they really are, and the lighting just looks more "natural" (it really is, since its the sun lol).
Another thing, taking the photo at "ground eyes view" is an odd, seldom done angle and one that ppl are not really used to, plus it adds abit of realism to the model since it appears to be a photo taken from about eye level if it was a real aircraft.
Here is another model of mine I just posted, I built it awhile back, Its a Me 110 German Light Bomber:

| Greg,it looks good amongst the trees, that is the way the Luftwaffe used to tuck them away, you certainly exhibit artistic flair and it comes out in the photographs.

Greg | I am sure that some sort of tutorial thread on here would be very interesting and very much appreciated by us all.
Your photo's are very distinctive and far more eye catching than any others I have seen.
Thanks for sharing. |

| Howdy Guys,
Thanks again Bunker for the kind words and I may try to write a few photo tutorials for the other members. I enjoy telling what I know to others.
Barry, its always good to come to a new place and already know someone there, so now I dont feel as much of a stranger as I did. I am glad to be here.
Have a good day guys,
Greg aka GW |
