| Why not kill two birds with one stone and live in the Viscount cockpit ? much more interesting than a flat.
In the States there is a company who sell Boeing 727's fixed to a revolving pole, you swing the aircraft round via an electric motor when you get fed up of the view, the interiors are really plush, trhe whole aircraft is strengthened up with steel girders internally to withstand the strain, the aerofoil section is made non lifting by adding turbulators on the leading edge, they have thought of everything.

| ***Yes I remember that scene, there have been dozens of aircraft featured in the Bond movies, the new one 'Casino Royale' features the Air Atlantique DC-6 aircraft and a Boeing type that escapes me ? they were filming recently at Dunsfold airfield. Quote: |

| Somewhere, I have a picture of one that went through the fence at Coventry airport when she failed to get airborne, made a big furrow in the ground, they pulled her back with a JCB and checked her over, and out she flew again the next day,the just do not make them like that anymore. Quote: |

| | All Round Modeller | Nice to see a keen enthusiast !!!
To be honest I had never heard of the Carvair before I read this post, I am well and truly enlightened now.
The R/C Model on e-bay certainly looks a real Beauty and it looks like a lot of TLC has gone into that model as she really looks the part....and for the closing bid of £155..someone has got themselves a real bargain there, Pity you missed out on it...but that's ebay for you.
I notice bidding only ended today...keep your eye on your e-mail and on ebay in case it comes back up as a second chance offer if the original bidder pulls out for some reason, it does happen and if you were the 2nd highest bidder, they will normally e-mail you giving you the chance to buy it at the price you bid for it.
The All wood smaller version looks nice too, shame it's a bit small for R/C.
Regards.......Mark

| Mark, just recently there have been some very interesting scale models on E-Bay,but most have not realised very high prices, one chap from the Devon area sells completed quarter scale Piper Cubs with engine for silly low prices, most look unflown, the covering and wood alone is worth more than the few hundred pounds that he seems to get,I just do not know how they do it ?

The boeing is a 747 that has had its engines altered somewhat! |
