pontins model week , brean sands

http://themodelboatbuilder.mysite.orange.co.uk. some pics of planes on the sand , the catalina and the small blue plane are nomore , the cat spun in and i had to dump the small one as i was flying out of the field at the back of pontins and had a dead stick landing that came in to fast and there was a rather large hedge at the end of the strip with a golf corse the other side , the plane is repairable , not sure about the cat .

Paul, sorry to hear about your Catalina, that looks like a Ruskin Air Services Dakota there ?
Did one engine quit,is that what caused the spin ?

yes the dak is a ruskin, flew well , the engines on the cat were on on seperate channels , and i was trying to get the engines to idle for landing , by the time i had them set the plane had climed and slowed and then stalled into a turn , i didn't have the height to pull out , it went in nose first , took off the front upto the wing support, snapped the wing off at the joiner on the centre panel , cracked the hull just past the step, cracked the tail cone , ripped off the right hand engine mount , i'm waitting to hear about another one part built .
