| New to these forums, and relatively new to modelling... Hello all! I have been browsing these forums for the past few days and I have become very impressed with the skill that some of you guys have. I have recently gotten back into modelling after around 5 years or so and decided to take it up a notch and get myself an airbrush. (Yes, I am that new to modelling :P). I also picked up two Tamiya kits from my local hobby shop as well: both 1/48 scale, the Dewoitine D.520 and the Messerschmidt Bf109E-4/7.
I was planning on getting out the old digital camera and snapping some progress shots so I could get some comments/criticisms, but I became too enthralled with building the Dewo and I have nearly completed it. However, I figured now that I am taking a slight break, I would take a few shots of how its come so far. (The airbrush has made modelling a whole new hobby for me )
Hope this works: (link to the album) http://picasaweb.google.com/Schlissefahrt |

| Howdy Alex, The dewoine looks great...and yes the link did work lol. I dont know if you have seen any of my older model photos (from two month ago or more) but I have been doing ground level photos of my models outside on my concrete driveway with hedge in the background....I think they come out pretty good like that since its not an angle that you would normally see a model airplane from. It kinda makes ya think you are looking at a much bigger aircraft. if ya get a chance when ya complete it, take it outside and try to get a photo on the ground . it doesnt have to be concrete, a patch of dirt works too. Anyway, we all look forward to more photos and have fun with that airbrush. Have a good day, Greg |

| Welcome to the forum Schlissefahrt, glad to have you with us. I think a lot of us have come back to modelling after a few years of absence so you are not alone in that direction. I had a period of a few years of doing very little and I was quite amazed at just how much techniques and materials had progressed during my time away.
Enjoy your modelling and feel free to share with us your experiences. By the way I love the Avatar, is it your dog?

| Hi Alex,
Welcome to the Forums from me too and very nice work with the Dewoitine so far, looking forwards to seeing more. Glad to see you are enjoying the hobby, that's what it's all about.
As for your dog, by Aussie - I take it you mean Australian Kelpie..?? If so, Good choice. I have the remaining one of my 2 here, Sadly my eldest one passed away last Friday aged almost 17 years old, so yours should be around for some time yet !!. My remaining one is almost 10 but is more like a 2 year old. A very loyal, intelligent & obedient breed & I would certainly recommend them....Yours is certainly a nice looking dog.
Anyway, back to the models, keep us posted with your progress, there are plenty of us here for help if you get stuck.
Regards.........Mark.

| Thanks Mark. Actually by Aussie I mean Australian Shepherd. The name is misleading, because Australian Shepherds were first bred in the United States, but share common ancestry with Australian Cattle Dogs. The traits of your dog sounds very similar to mine, very loyal, very energetic as well and a very fast learner. |
